Blissful Misery

by Christopher Shin

Do you miss me
when I tell you
how the world can
seem so bold?

All I have is you
in my heart when
I'm in the darkest
set of noon.

Will you ever understand,
that I am not perfection?
Can it be that all
you ever had were broken
heart shaped lost.

When times seem to go
like fleeting birds
merging into pools
of misery.

All you can do is
see the sun in
the darkest part
of the world with
misery and hope.

Why is it that
those who give you
attention are the
ones that you love
the most?

Maybe it's the pain
you want to feel.
Yet love is so gone
in the soul of your
age.

So as you sit alone
in your own despair.
I shall always remind
you and I that we are
doomed.

Plaintive reflection on the (dis)comfort of being sad.
