From the 345

by Richard Vince

Sitting on the bus, I see
A patch of beauty

I look through the window…
And there she is
The girl with the dreads
Sweeping hair

She wears the black baggy T shirt
Which generally adorns employees
Of hairdressers' shops

She looked at me!
I swear she did
As she sat on purple velvet
To take a rest…

Or did she simply look
At the world outside…
And wonder
What am I doing here?

Wonderful sense of immediacy, Richard. Superb opening couplet with, "a patch of beauty". Nice write!
