"Holden" by Max PhineasIt was just getting light out
Didnt know where the hell to go
I shouldve gone back.
Looked like it was going to rain
Boy, did it scare me.
I knew the part about pretending
All I wanted to do was say good-bye
I kept going,
Afraid to stop.
Im sorry
Dont let me disappear
Please, dont let me
Im sorry!
Sweating like a bastard
Raining in buckets
I kept going,
Afraid to stop.

Using the last two chapters of The Catcher in the Rye, we had to create a poem using only phrases from the book. In doing so we had to capture the essence of the book in just the poem. Though I'm not particularly fond of the poem, I thought it was a great idea for an assignment.
