Dialing Drinking

by Joe Cramer

I tried to call you, while I was drinking.
I must have been out of my head, I was thinking
About how to tell you how much I missed you.
Dialing drunk is just not the thing to do.
You left me, moved on, so very far away.
I wish that I could see you for just a moment, today.
Instead I find solace in the bottom of a glass
Hoping my angst will diminish, or just pass.
I won't call again, for I know that in time
My pain will eventually fade, this I hope to find.
