In the Quiet by Joe CramerIn the quiet of the earliest eve
She sat alone, while waiting for her call.
The world around her she did not perceive
As she reclined softly, against a wall.
The phone sits silently and does not ring,
Her silent musings bring nothing but tears
On this dark night, no love to her will bring.
Despite her best intentions, just more fears.
There was not a thing left for her to do
But to shrug, to sigh an audible sigh.
Her thoughts had left her, those thoughts far too few.
All that remained was to sit now and cry.
In her solitude, now out goes the light
Alone again, in the darkest of night. 03/13/2006 Posted on 03/14/2006 Copyright © 2024 Joe Cramer
