It's not often you get to pause in life
Our busy schedules keep us moving
Keep us running
Keep us reaching for the next busy thing

And everywhere you go there is a clock
Telling us it's time to go
And time to plan
Time for the next move

And it seems to me it's been a long time since I got to sit down
Taking TIME out for myself
Doing what I love
Or maybe that's why I stay up late
To contemplate what is happening in my life

My life it seems in on this fast track
But not really going anywhere
Doesn't stop the planning or the moving though
If anyone asked me what I wanted to be 12 years ago
I would have rolled a million things off my tongue
Not one was a time keeper

But it seems that's what I've become
