Why do I feel
this way today
The spasms just won't stop
my head is down
my shoulders are up
I open my mouth
and I cannot talk.

I have things to do
that cannot wait
but I can't seem to move
my body aches
my hands shake
my toes are curled way up
and I can hardly type

I yearn for the days
gone by
when everything still worked
now all I can do is sit around
waiting for the next shoe to drop

All I want is some normalcy
Is that too much to ask
I want to be able to
look at the stars
instead of just seeing
the ground
