You are just like the summer air to me

by Joe Cramer

You are just like the summer air to me
Soft and sweet, serene against the hot day.
Enchanting my soul and setting it free
Reminding me of how little to say
When words get in the way, a summer breeze.
Did you think that I would love only you?
Only to lose again, weak at the knees.
My heart always has feelings that are new
I watch, survey all that is around me.
My heart swells, warmed by the hot, heavy sun
Always wondering for what is to be
To find solace, love that has not begun.
You remind me of that warm summer day
When lost feelings, now gone, were led astray.
