"Buried Treasure" by Max PhineasReaching upward, I snatch the setting Sun
from its hovering place overhead.
And a sky sprinkled pink with remaining rays of light
Dims to black
As I smash it into a million shards
of glass, glowing a translucent orange.
And I scatter the pieces,
Burying them beneath the dunes.
For I long to see the elation of a child-
Who goes through his life kicking sand-
As he unearths his own piece of sunlight. 03/08/2006 Author's Note: Sunlight for everyone!
