Something Wrong

by Rebecca Lin

The cuts were spreading all over my mouth.
They were warm
and painful,
but that's to be expected.
What hit me the most
was that they were
so raw.
Clenching my gums,
rotting inside me,
burning, burning...
I know I must've done something
wrong.

When people love me,
they hate it when my self esteem is low.
I know their feelings, but still
I'd like to hear them say
I'm beautiful
because I really never thought I was.
Oh God,
my gums hurt so much.
