Old pictures

by Keith D Allison

Outline upon the wall
Drippings of history
In shadows spread
Tin types in worn wood
Concave glass surrounded in oval walnut
Mahogany, walnut, oak and cask copper tiered
To the most modern frame
Where the grandchildren hang

Sad to think
When I’m gone
They’ll fall into a box
Being stuffed in a shed
Hundred and half years of family
Perishing in decay

Everything, everyone, ends up in a box...one way or another. Excellent writing, Keith.
