Terminal Velocity

by Jersey D Gibson

Like two comets destined for each other,
we approach at high-speed.
Destined to fall, destined to fail,
but if we don't try, we won't succeed.

Like two star-crossed lovers together,
the fates have aligned against us.
We'll travel down this hardship road,
with everything standing in our way.

Like a train wreck waiting to happen,
we're just bend in the road to tip.
Going too fast, going too strong,
the brightest flame burns quickest.

Like a bullet from a gun to a target,
we meet each other at perpendiculars.
We're at wrong angles for things to fit,
won't anything work out alright?
