What ever happened to smiles
What chased the cheer all away
Why must I struggle to maintain control
Fearing the things I might say

Why do you seem to despise me
What is it that I might have done
Why don’t you ever take hold of my hand
Or laugh like when life was fun

What should I do to appease you
Other than leave you alone
It seems I just don’t know what I can do
How do you fix the unknown
