Girlfriend's Advice

by Susan Q Tomas

Like how clothes that don't fit you, aren't flattering
a life that doesn't fit right is unflattering.
Others will tell you, "oh it works great for me!"
If your life is designed by someone else
you will be awkward, not your best,
and it just won't work.

So stop asking others what you should do.
Stop submitting your work for others to review
Be quiet and still, and ask . . . yourself.
It may take a while before you hear answers,
and listening is not a passive verb.
Ask yourself. Ask you.

Author's Note: There are as many ways to live life as there are people. Discern what is you, and what is others influencing you off your path.

This axiomatic piece certainly lends credence to fact if not the truth, Suzy. But that's just me and I can't help wonder what others think. Hmmm!
