screams mean nothing

by Michele Schottelkorb

“why don’t you see me
why don’t you feel me?”

~~J. Napolitano

marble face cracks slightly
when all hell breaks free
until one day, madness,
the terrible façade, crumbles
psychosis falls beneath
a fury of stardust
voice screams bloody murder
but you aren’t listening.

you understand, but this isn’t
your demon…
so,
you don’t
understand.

you don’t see me
the “now” me
the wailing wall me
that’s broken
flowing
swishswashing down to
the perfect storm.

it’s been just a lifetime
and i’m here, screaming
for my fucking life.

why don’t you hear me?

Yes, I feel you on this.. at least in my own way, I do. People often say they relate, but they can never relate to a situation completely.. and can only be empathetic. I know for me, sometimes I want them to do more than hear.. to listen, to understand my pain.. these vices that ache us. Really good read Michele.
