"Clockwork"

by Max Phineas

Forever came yesterday
Slipped between my fingers
And disappeared.

Time ended this morning
Though the ticking lingers
in my ear.

Tomorrow stopped trying
And today is lying.
Because the Sun persists on rising.

But we know
In the depths of our beings
That time has stopped.

Very well done, Cole. You had me from beginning to finish. I especially liked the second stanza.

Seems we take no note of time, but from its loss. I guess in the end, time remains...and we go. This is really excellent work, Cole.
