girl in the airport

by Travis G Finborg

raven hair slenders the light
her coke lays against her leg
black sweetness gently swashes
her foot idly twitches, thoughts of home?

an age equal to younger
what brings her to travel
holidays are long past,
a birth? a death?
her face is obscured,
but it must be a beautful smile.

a face full of happiness?
with a turn, she glances my way
I continue to type,
to describe a diiffernce
a small petulent mouth
frozen in boredom,
large brown eyes, blink
a casual toss of her head
and the raven hair spills and curls
wafts a pleasent smell
some synthetic aroma from a bottle of shampoo.

as the departure time draws near
her nervousnous escalates
eager to be off,
to a lover or
a mother?

Author's Note: people watching can be fun, but I wonder if she thought I was creepy?
