Winter's eve romance

by Amy Niggel

The face in the window
staring out into the darkening sky
patterns of condensing breath
leaving childish skulls on teh pane
she has waited so long
in hope
watching the dance of lights
transfixed by fairie movements
as others pass by
never sparing a glance
but she knows
and cannot help but wonder
why no one else can see the color of the snow

Author's Note: I have never seen white snow in my life...

Too much of it and you never want to see it again...i myself have seen too much...but it is also good seeing you - through your pic- for the first time...as lovely as, well, a poem..:0
