I would be; I'd love you

by Rebecca Lin

Your hands in mine,
the world is our own.
I feel at home.
I feel limitless.

The flickering candles
show all their sympathy…
and the snow melts in our laps.
I hear your whisper starting to disintegrate into
poetic joys of whimsical nonsense.
Nothing can bring me down
because you've already brought me there,
and then somehow carried me in the air.
I would be somewhere where I cannot fall
and can actually feel.

I would be;
I'd love you.

Your arms around me,
your smile would illuminate me.
That's what I think it is.
That's all I truly want.
