Expressions of Youth

by Mark Maxey

You speak nothing but lies
Out of your mouth comes a stench
So vast and vile, it consumes the world
Maybe that’s what you wanted
Or intended by your agenda
But its not mine nor my brothers
Or my sisters and it’s time you
Quit your lies

Black and white and in color
The images exist in cohesion
Which the masses try to separate
But you keep your firm hand
Upon that grip you call power
Which one day will consume you

In college it was art and music
Which had a message of hope
Of which I took to be real
Another form of expressionism
But in it was the power I found
To be my sword

Black and white and in color
The images exist in cohesion
Which the masses try to separate
But you keep your firm hand
Upon that grip you call power
Which one day will consume you

In our youth we fight for truth
We understand your lies
And digest none of it
We feed ourselves upon our music
Which teaches us to speak up
Against evil like you

Black and white and in color
The images exist in cohesion
Which the masses try to separate
But you keep your firm hand
Upon that grip you call power
Which one day will consume you

Leave it to the youth
Full of ideas and hope
Yeah they may be strange
Or lack in social graces
But listen carefully
For in their speech
Is a dirge for your funeral

Black and white and in color
The images exist in cohesion
Which the masses try to separate
But you keep your firm hand
Upon that grip you call power
Which one day will consume you

For in their speech Is a dirge for your funeral... This is deep, can you send it to Mr. Bush for me?
