drifting

by Charlie Morgan

cresting with the lapping foam
of ocean currents meeting the beach,
and breaking the constituient parts
of the shore, i see sand pebbles.

squinting, i see me, you.

the defining reach of the ocean's palm
erodes and laves all that exists
until, in it's aqueous path
you and i are mere fractals

of what we are yet to be.

It's on that shore that waves roll desire, and expectation into hope. At first we hope too much, later on, not enough. We need the "breaking the constituient parts" if we are really going to to see hope become the joy we seek. Great write and read, Chazman.
