Really Just A Question

by Sahar Rahim

Is it insecurity?
The question.
Where is this going?
Something every woman at one point will ask another who is unwilling to answer.
Where is this goin?
What is the point?
Am I wasting my time thinking of tomorrow when all you want is today.
I search for forever, for security, for a reason to justify what I'm doing.
Should I spend energy, time, heart, soul on a frivolous fling.
So you can pass time?
Why is it you're afraid to answer?
I realize it's not a yes or no question...there is no real right answer.
But if it's just a fling then please let me know.
If you see this going somewhere I'd really like to know.
It doesn't seem like a random question to me.
But a logical one.
We spend our whole lives planning ahead.
Work, trips, friends, our lives and what we're going to do with them.
So why is it when it comes to one question.
You freeze.
I you don't know, you don't know.
Is it long term, is this just fun?
Am I the girl you just want when you want to get it on?
When we're lying in bed, all alone.
We have the lights turned down low.
You hold me close and smile that smile.
And I want to know is this just going to happen for a while?
Will I wake up one day and you not be there.
Am I going to be able to count on you, lean on you, trust you to care.
When you need someone to turn to, is it going to be me?
So you really have to see, it's simply just a question to assure myself I'm not wasting my time.
When life falls apart, are you going to be by my side?

"And I want to know is this just going to happen for a while?" That's what it comes down to. Nice writing.

Again. Amazing! The questions you ask... I would love to know at some point if there are answers or if you have gotten some; but as always I wish you the best... and as always... my dear, you are so thought provoking and wonderfully talented. ~N
