Dreams and Stars

by Christopher Shin

Sleep and slumber as the
world turns into night.
Stars that burn can hardly
understand the present.

They thirst with history,
and legends that are gone.
Yet we remain all so sudden,
and all so alone.

Dream a thought of spells
broken, of shattered dreams
dispelled by truth and facts.

Create a story yet as the
thread unravels the poor
spider falls to the floor.

Taste youth with me,
but remember that the
wrinkles near the eyes
have the wisdom long over do.

Dine with me in the hall
of the dream king as
I watch him pluck you
away from me.

Leave me empty all alone,
for dreams and hope seem
so distant like the stars.

"Yet we remain all so sudden"...that's a great line, Christopher. It's a nice poem. Enjoyed this very much.
