Fishing For My Heart

by Jersey D Gibson

Alone and empty,
that's how you left me;
I'm left alone.

Sigh and anguish,
my soul got ambushed;
You took it away.

These feeling disappear,
when I forget your face.
These moods will disappear,
gotta move on to a better place...

Grind and ground,
you're not around;
That's the way I like it.

Left to die,
yet still I try;
Just to prove you wrong.

This feeling disappears,
when I forget your name.
Troubled times disappear,
when I forget to take the blame...

Fishing for my heart again,
gotta move on, gotta be strong.
Fishing for my heart again,
won't back down, won't give up.

Fishing for my heart again,
now that you have let go.
Fishing for my heart again,
gotta give it time to heal.

Good strong emotional appeal. The words and form flow from beginning to end. It rips my heart and makes me want to grab a box of tissues. One suggestion (take or leave) substitute one "alone" in the 1st stanza with another word.
