Radio Jerusalem (The Voice Of Freedom Series)

by Jersey D Gibson

We clash, over and over,
doom upon both houses.
Fight with gun and bombs,
fight for our lives.

We clash, again and again,
a plague upon both houses.
Reb blood runs in the streets,
running for our lives.

Peace between two lands,
that was made as one.
Fight each other into extinction,
peace is just a swear word now.

We clash, day by day,
bombs upon your houses.
Nothing new we haven't tried,
fearing for our lives.

We clash, street after street,
invading your houses.
Another bomb on a bus,
another explosion in a cafe.

War between two lands,
that won't be one.
Kill each other just for slaughter,
peace is a forgotten word now.

Helicopters like furious angels,
men with guns, men with bombs.
In a war of elephants, grass will lose,
along with the rest of us.

Whole world watching, holding its' breath,
when will the fragil cease-fire begin?
War is old, let's try something different,
ye' all tune into Radio Jerusalam.

We clash, time after time,
nothing left of our houses.
Another raid, another day,
another mob carries a martyr.

We clash, year upon year,
on both sides of the houses.
Father teaching sons to be men,
teaching them to be cannon fodder.

Fighting of two lands,
can't be made into one.
Murder each other for principal,
peace is just a college word.

We clash, battle after battle,
bullets piercing houses.
The innocents are up for grabs,
so is the flying lead.

We clash, body upon body,
corpses litter the houses.
I know not my enemy,
can't remember what we're fighting for.

The killing of two lands,
soon there will be none.
Widow's tears fill the holy land,
Peace is now a hateful word.

Helicopters like furious angels,
men with guns, men with bombs.
In a war of elephants, grass will lose,
along with the rest of us.

Whole world watching, holding its' breath,
when will the fragil cease-fire begin?
War is old, let's try something different,
ye' all tune into Radio Jerusalam.

Oh wow, that almost made me cry. Again nice lines, very truthful lines. I relaly like the Montague/Capulet houses going on with a Mercutio voice. I can see him screaming this. One suggestion "peace is a forgotten word now" Take out the word "now" it leaves a harsher end to the stanze, more of an impact.
