Pain

by Joan Serratelli

Pain in it's purist form
brings freedom
just as freedom
brings pain.

There is no justice,
just questions
There is no life
worth living
without answers
even if the answers
bring pain

The truth
does not set us free
it is the lies that bind
us together
making it impossible
to leave
We know each other
far too well
We think each other's thoughts
but more than that
We dream each other's dreams.

love, love that first stanza. so interesting and through provoking. and so wonderful that the rest of the poem stems from that initial thought.
