the ferrule that binds by Scott Cadence
from across this distance
you are working within
picking out my situation from airwaves above your head
like picking 12 yellow flowers from a field of endless, endless red
from across the distance
you're painting the same picture I'm dreaming of
applying radially an unbroken glance between two lovers
and in this space is the unseen ferrule that binds
the two great observers within
from across the distance
there are a thousand ways to reach you
a million ways to feel with my eyes closed
and with miles and miles of land to go
I'm hoping I can find some solid ground to stand on
I'm hoping -
hoping more
it's not too late
to open my eyes
and see you
here
