dizzy when the world moves, vodka in my hand

by Lauren Singer

later we can find an alley
and i can tell you my secrets.
pretend that you never took me for everything i am
and we can lay low and play hard
like we used to do and i can find
those lighter shades of baby blonde in your hair
after we make love in your car
and i never thought you'd actually grow up.
i thought that we could understand
the way the seasons change
without having to change with them.

and i can see myself candid and touching you
if i knew you were with me right now.

Another one where you've woven your way into my understanding. Right on the mark. Thanks for the read.
