Starlings, sparrows and pigeons
These birds
Don't seem to fly south
For the winter
I wouldn't want to be
Any of them
In their respective
Bird worlds,
But the crow
Also a year-round resident
Flying with a few crow friends
Has interesting days
So it seems
Looking here
Or there
Flying on
Treating the world
Like one big mall,
But not being a bird
I can't fly with them
Or even climb a tree
Like a squirrel
But I can climb stairs
So if birds and squirrels had a
Field Guide to Humans
I could be listed as
A Stairs Climbing Hominid.
