That word is whispering

by Keith D Allison

Of our dream I can’t scrape the eyes free
Lacerations share consume me in the depths of sea
Deep into the mystery of pearls glittering as diamonds
Trembling as the quake burns deep within
The light almost wholly surrounds me
I live to the promise
To your caress, brushing the lips that I might breathe

Rewrite 1/11/06

First two lines of 1/06/06
I can't abrade my eyes free of this castle in the sky
Lacerations consume me in the depths of sea

there's a strength and compelling nature to this poem that for me really comes in in the second line. I think one or two word choices might be varied for experiement, and just simplicity, but a lovely romantic piece that stays centered in and fits its setting beautifully. Lines 3-5 are my favourite.
