Goodbye (a letter post hyster)

by Lisa-Dawn Sparling

I realized when I went into surgery that they were taking you,

but I just realized - you are gone..

Although there were times that I despised you,

I also appreciated your hard work,

and I appreciated that you allowed my children to live in you.

I even forgave you for rejecting the babies on that rainy February day.

I don't know if or when I will miss you...

I think I first have to digest the fact that there is a hollow space left where you were.

For 29 years you grew with me and you did your job.

May you rest in peace...

and again I thank you..
