so there is no confusion, no need to clarify
this is the hereafter, no longer are we what we used to be,
but you are what you have always been
a liar and a cheater and an unpredictable mess,
and you were so much more,
even when you meant so much less,
and i am all apology now,
trying to unravel truths from half-truths,
to remove myself from your equation,
to find the positive side,
trying to forget all the plane rides to your bedside,
so much for promises,
you'll be the first to see me as a failure
but you'll be the last to understand
that what you see in me, is really just a reflection
of everything i have always seen in you...
and so just for clarification's sake;
this is me admitting that i was wrong,
that we were never as we pretended,
and that i am, as i have always been, better off without you.
