anew

by Peter Humphreys

Down by
the
evening shore,
the gentle tide
returns,
reluctantly,
hesitantly,
but
without fear,
the sand
once more
succumbs
to
a new
world
a world
which it
embraces
each day
anew.

Gentle. Renewing, indeed.

A wonderful metaphor for life. We should all learn to embrace the new world we experience each day.
