Nothing's changed

by Rebecca Lin

When they enter
my room
it's no longer mine.
They're able to take
my theme
and smash it into myself
creating their own vibe
and hiding my life.

I'm reduced to feeling
ashamed
and lying on the bed.
Her asking
"What's wrong?"
doesn't feel better either.

The moon, she
liked to tease me.
Get on my case,
be annoying.
She called it love
I called it dumb.

The sun
could bring me down,
but I usually just
blamed it on
her strong personality.

The clouds always
went back & forth-
preferably staying
with the "gentleman" in the woods.

The rainbow
was the only one
who stayed pure.
But she didn't come
out all the time
because she had lost a little bit of herself.

I was still
just the star
who started to fade
even more.

Great poem. Sometimes change comes when our backs are turned. =) Keep your chin up.
