You Were Mad

by Joan Serratelli

You were mad,
so I apologized,
I said I was sorry
(even though
I didn't mean it)

Still you're mad
so I'm alone
laying on my bed
and writing this
lousy poem!

I don't know
what I have to say
or do
so I think I'll
just stay away.

Have a good evening
have a good night
have a fun time sulking
but remember I tried
to stop this silly fight.

I tried,
I failed
the sad story
of my very sad

Today is here
tomorrow will arrive
be mad, be glad
it doesn't matter
life will go on.

Author's Note: This is just a piece I wrote when my husband andd I were fighting....
