Time

by Oliver Drewman

Through our fingertips
Silently shifting grains of sand
We never feel the drips
As they fall endlessly
Drop by splashing drop slips
Incessantly away
Until small cracks become a rip
Through which we all must fall

Author's Note: thoughts on "Ozimandias", the riddle from "Lord of the Rings" and the frailty of life.
