The Easy Way Out

To love
To want
Is this what I'll have the rest of my life
A dream
A fantasy
Everytime I want to open up
I retreat
I fall back
It's too hard now to dig real deep
To lose
To love
Time now has built a shield around my heart
Ice cold
High walls
Do I want to take the easy way out
Be content
Live with what I have
Or should I dare to reach for what might not be
Do I share the dream
Could I finally be free
Acceptance was never the course I meant to plot
I'm a coward
