l00king 4 s0me sanity

by Carl Walker

I was looking for some sanity

Just a place of rest

But when I thought I’d found it

Myself showed up to test

I fought my inspirations

My habits to unwind

I was looking to a place

Outside myself to find

A peace that can’t be deconstructed

By the tangles in my mind

When I came to a conclusion

I had bought my foolish line

When I lost a sad delusion

That rattled up my cage

Sweet peace would ever elude me

Unless I turned a page

The resting place I’d turned to

In my desperate state of mine

Turned me to a peace

That I could really find

Cause the peace that really lasteth

Is a peace beyond myself

The peace that really lasteth

Puts myself upon a shelf

Puts myself just past my caring

My troubles to unwind

Finding sweet peace Forming in myself

a peace place for others to find

Author's Note: the more i tried to make the world all about me the less peace i had, the more i tried to make my life all about others the more i found peace and joy with it
