Damaged Face Sculpture

by Tom Goss

The eyes are empty of stone.
The worn rock is still unlocking curiosity
from the still-breathing.

His eroded nose holds the gesture
of fallen, broken rock
yet its darkness wasn't what
the artist intended:
only a nose-tip de constructed
to spite the long-reaching imagination
of his master's skillful hands.

This sculpture provides such an inspiration - as art often does. The simple beauty in the lines, link the past with the present and thoughts of what might have been.
