clenching words in her fist

by Ava Blu

she's walking on water again
thinking today God will strike

she's never owned any luck
so it's no wonder karma's not on her side

dwelling on religion,
reading the bible every day

she wants to succumb
to whomever keeps listening

lust on the left
hope on the right

each hand dealt differently
yet never quite what she wants

walking on water again,
she waits to drown

surely some day all these answers
will finally bring her down.
