30 Seconds Of Silence Shared With The Girl With New Eyes

by Tom Goss

It was there in the pause between
her sips of ice water that I learned

about the glistening sensitivity
reborn in her now transplanted eyes.

The sheer laser-fine textures of her
soul-magnetic radiation permeated

beyond my frightened word-echoes
and transmitted subliminal caresses

like playful orbs of light
that seemed to extend far down below

to where my arcane scribbles struggle
to elevate themselves above the intensifying

misanthropy that grips the council of logicians
that reside inside my head.

I love "the pause between her sips" unusual...usually there is the sip that is the pause! Excellent... then the "ice-water" followed by "glistening" ...very watery eye imagery. "Caresses" by the eyes... being like "orbs of light" ...also unusual and unexpected, penetrating thus to the core of feeling! Again, unususal: the "arcane scribbles" being below...and and trying to raise themselves over the head... (wonderful) where the "council of logicians" resides...one can almost see them there, with their pens poised in that moment of silence!!
