Reason With Fire

by Kim Bennett

Observe the tangled wind in heat
Absorb the so-called dreary rain
Rinse the body of wounded eyes
With salted drops of soul

Grasp the knowledge of reason and wound reality.
Reality that feeds false hope,
Murdering the mind of reason,
While embellishing starlit imagination.

Realize that no sublime eyes control movemen
Pull the twisted marionette strings of life
Before they are manipulated by dogmatic men
Men with binding beliefs from books, rather than accepting ideas.

Sacrifice beguiled aspirations of perfection
Break the condtioning of the illusioned mind
Create beautiful ideas to share with others.
Burn the beliefs that crush choice!

Please. I plead to you, Reason!
Reason with fire.

Author's Note: Yup, deleted this one. I think last time I just said that the poem explains itself.

Kim, I like your writing here very much--it shows a deep passion mimicking your life? Although I don't agree with your views on Christianity, I respect you and your writing ability:) I do have to tell you, you seem to make it a personal ploy to fight against hypocrisy although I see you so mindlessly lumping all Christians into the same "cesspool"....?? I agree and like your line "burn the beliefs that crush choice" very poignant!:)Keep writing! Robin
