Forget

by Alison McKenzie

How quickly
Did my beloved
Forget the taste of my kiss
Upon his swollen lips
How swiftly did the sweetness
Of our unioned pleasure
Evaporate

If I could render
Our lovemaking to wine,
Would you take a drink?
Quench your parched soul?

Then,
Intoxicated
Dance?

Always dance
My sweet gentle lover
Always dance
