Pointe Du Lac

by Nicole Assenza

You see to the bottom
Of my murky waters
You cut across
My lake like glass
You cut right through
Oh my, I wonder now
How many more years
Will go by
Before we can't stand it
Anymore
My stomach leaps
When we dip
Oh, blue eyes
You drifted away
But the sweltering summer
Saw you here
We should have met again
How many years
Will go by
Before you can call me home?
God, my heart leaps
The thought
Of every second missed!
I'm the only one
Who'll understand
Your every rolling wave
The breaks
Behind every swell
Oh, angel I
Just wonder now
When you return
If I can brave the glance
Of your placid gaze or
Your stormy face!

Part of this reminded me of that song.. "we'll meet again.. don't know where, don't know when, but I know we'll meet agan some sunny day"... Ha. I don't know. Maybe I'm crazy.

this is beautiful. it made my heart flutter, for me, the eyes aren't blue, they're a pretty brown.
