Just Three Words

by Thomas K. Hunt

Another morning falls

My freedom's out of sight

Locked away in a jail of dreams

Missing keys, hinges rusted tight

Dreams that fill my head

Dreams of loving me

Every day I leave my bed

I see that it's not meant to be

Sentenced to this life of dreams

Tormented to my soul

Scratching digits on my walls

Digging deeper in my hole

Swept away from the loving kind

Stolen from my days

Turned away and left behind

Hurting in so many ways

Voices in my dreams

Faces in the night

Living deep behind my bars

Isolated between the broken light

Hearing what I hear

Pools within my eyes

Touching but not feeling

Waking to lonely cries

Another morning falls

Another nothing new

Locked away in a jail of dreams

With a limited point of view

Lost within my space

In my rut filled world

Longing for my parole

Waiting for just three words

Great energy in this! I love the description of the broken light...very vivid.
