language of SO-A-LA-IH

by Charlie Morgan

he's under the care
of SO-A-LA-IH [ONE STAR].

and a sliver of words, sheathed
til their wonderous and caressing
release, are at his ready as
he makes beautiful love to
the mother universe, intact
and extant he's a spirit
of times ago and softly
dropped to us now
and he's airy-light
and butterfly wings
become heavy in comparison

a child-star, a movement
in string theory, connecting
beings in a lightness thereof;
asking, do you see me?, do you?
a rhetorical question he knows,
as they are forever
life-mates and love-mates.

Author's Note: ... if my information is correct SO-A-LA-IH in Navajo means "one star." this is written with my friend anihe in mind and in that same regard this poem is written to him, he's a wonderful spirit that exists in many places...peace to you all and peace to anihe.
