Because you left

by Uriel Tovar

i stopped shaving my head
--instead i dropped the
razor blade into a mound of hot coals
and gripped it tightly in my left hand
until the coagulating blood
splattered on the floor
like dried out playdoh cracking
aginst a white-blue cement floor like your fist
on my face that day you caught me cheating.

Wow. I don't know why, but I just decided to go over to your library to browse a few poems quickly and instinct lead me straight to this one. This is outstanding....not crazy about the subject, but the way you expressed it is very creative, unique, explicit and hits with a heavy impact.IMHO, it is very good. Wow
