untitled

by Jessica Yen

stolen words
like glass and ice
all to dust
all disappear

transient-like
space and time
house of mirrors
just staring back

transparent
see-through
ephemeral existence
here only for an instant

then gone again
forever.

why write--
without feeling
without taste
without touch

why live--
without eyes
without reality
without love

only here for a second
to glance at the skies
to sample the wind
to brush the sand

carpe diem
seize the day

live in reality
not in fantasy
not made-up worlds
and a giant's drink

lies upon lies
cloud the truth;
see past the cover-up,
to uncover yourself.

...jessica, you better quit describing me...i read this a few times, and i keep seeing me and the zillions of words/poetics/concepts slipping and sliding, heck swirling around in my head and by the time i get to where they're coalescing into something tangible, it's nearly POOF![they're gone!]...you did this with this one [to me] speaking of this existence, etc...peace, chaz
