A dream I dreamed about you
About you falling in love with me
We were watching the night sky
Laying on a blanket
On the fifty yard line
Of our high school football field
I kept hoping your heart could fall for me
Like stars to gravity
I wished on one and my wish came true
As you turned to look in my eyes
Our arms reached around each other
Holding on for our lives
We kissed for the first time
And it felt so real
So unbelievably real
My heart was filled with a happiness
I've only dreamed that I could feel
It overwhelmed me so
That I was pulled out of my sleep
And for a moment I could feel
Your hands, your lips still there
Only to feel the emptiness in my arms
Racing straight into my heart
I cried out an echo with my tears,
"God, why is it always a dream?
It's always just a dream"
