I too am on the Outside,
By birth
By choice
By accountability.

But I have branched
Myself over the wall,
And prune
And groom
My self to appear so.

And to remain so—
Until that morning
When the Gardner comes
To note the new sprouts
My roots have extended
Inside the Wall.
